Polyphasic Sleep Schedule

From Polyphasic Sleep

A polyphasic sleep schedule involves sleeping more than once at night, as contrasted with the monophasic sleep schedule practiced by most of the human population.

Many animals, as well as human babies, are natural polyphasic sleepers.

Named Polyphasic Schedules

  • Uberman, a hexaphasic (six naps a day) schedule.
  • Everyman, which consists of a 1.5-4 hour core sleep and several (usually 3 or 4) shorter naps during the day.
  • Biphasic
  • Dymaxion, which consists of four 30-minute naps a day.
